At The sensory Xperience, our parties are designed to provide a fun, inclusive and relaxed environment where additional needs or disabilities don’t have to be a barrier to celebrating with family and friends.

Why parties matter to us

When we were designing The sensory Xperience, one of the aspects we just had to have was what quickly became known as The Party Room. An extra space within our centre that enabled families that had a family member with additional needs or a disability to be able to celebrate special occasions with family and friends, in a safe and carefree way, without judgement - just the same as everyone else can.

When Cian and Cillian turned 10 and 8 respectively, we invited all of their school friends to their joint birthday party. We had the boys’ own sensory room at home, so we knew there was a safe space to regulate should any of their friends need a wee escape. It was only that evening when many parents text to thank us for the invitation, and for the fun their children had on the day, that several also told us that it was the first birthday party their child had been invited to. We found that incredibly sad - and unfair.

That experience became part of the reason we created an environment where anyone with additional needs, together with their family and friends, could celebrate their special occasions just as they should.

We can also provide for for parents and carers if required, with a choice of chicken goujons & fries or sausages & fries.

We’re proud to hold a 5-star Food Hygiene Rating from the Food Standards Agency.

Minimum party size: 10 guests

Parents/carers’ food: £7 per person

Our parties aren’t limited to children’s birthdays. We welcome all ages and can host birthdays, Communions, Confirmations and other special occasions. Whether it’s someone’s first party, their tenth birthday or simply an occasion worth celebrating, the important part is that everyone gets the opportunity to be included.
