Our Rooms

This is the first of our sensory rooms you’ll encounter on your visit. The Green Room is a highly visual yet calming space, designed to support sensory regulation, exploration and engagement.

Lighting, colour, movement and sound create different sensory experiences, allowing visitors to explore the room at their own pace. There are multiple opportunities for tactile exploration, alongside interactive visual resources that encourage curiosity, cause and effect and active participation.

The ball pool provides opportunities for movement, body awareness and proprioceptive input, while our ball shower adds another unique, fun, interactive experience.

Realising that new experiences can sometimes be daunting for some, The Calming Room provides a small, quiet and discreet place to escape for a few moments of privacy, quiet time and calm.

With lower lighting and reduced visual stimulation, the room offers a gentler environment for anyone who may be feeling overwhelmed. A blackout tent and comfort blankets offer an even more private, enclosed space within the room.

Situated directly at the end of The Green Room, The Calming Room provides an immediate, accessible place to retreat and regulate, should that initial experience become overwhelming.

Located at the heart of The sensory Xperience, The Interactive Room, is our most technology-focused space, offering immersive activities that encourage movement, creativity and engagement.

Our interactive projector transforms the room into various colourful environments that respond to movement, allowing visitors to interact directly with the room. Activities can be adapted for different ages and abilities, including those with limited mobility, encouraging participation and cause and effect.

A height-adjustable touchscreen provides another form of interaction, with a wide range of activities supporting literacy, cognitive development and creativity.

The Blue Zone is our open-plan area designed around movement, active play and sensory regulation, with opportunities for vestibular, proprioceptive and deep-pressure input.

Visitors can climb, balance, spin, roll and move through the space, creating their own sensory circuits and choosing activities that provide the type and level of input they seek. The room supports body awareness, balance, coordination and movement while providing plenty of opportunities for active fun.

Alongside the more physical activities, colourful marine-life projections and calming visual resources provide a contrast for quieter engagement and regulation.

The Party Room provides a welcoming space for birthdays and special occasions for people with disabilities and additional needs, together with their siblings, family, friends and schoolmates.

Our parties are designed to make celebrating as easy, inclusive and enjoyable as possible, with full, exclusive access to our multi-sensory rooms alongside a dedicated space for food, cake and celebrations. We can help with organising the occasion and cater for a wide range of dietary requirements, with all food prepared on-site.

The Party Room is also a flexible space used for workshops, activities, adult day opportunities and events for parents and carers.

Our Carers Corner provides a dedicated space for parents and carers to sit down, relax and enjoy a complimentary cuppa while visiting the centre. It also provides an opportunity to chat with our team or simply connect with other parents and carers.

Our information area provides useful resources from organisations offering advice and support to individuals, families and carers, including information on services and benefit entitlements.

Situated beside The Blue Zone and The Party Room, Carers Corner provides a welcoming space to take a seat, have a chat and enjoy a few moments for yourself.
