Our Rooms

This is the first of our rooms you will encounter on your visit. Named simply due to its colour, The Green Room contains our specially selected, extensive range of sensory equipment and resources. This space has been designed to enhance sensory stimulation, produce a calming effect, and it covers multiple senses.

Our resources here includes a number of soft padded visual corners, a giant interactive bubbletube, fiber optics, sound activated LED sensory panel, infinity light mirrors, giant piano keypads, projectors, numbered sensory gel tiles, various tactile boards including our UV Twist ‘n’ Turn tactile board and the our very popular ball pool and ball shower combo.

We have also used The Green Room for therapeutic workshops, music therapy sessions and child development activities.

Realising that new experiences can sometimes be daunting for some, The Calming Room offers a small, quiet and discreet place to escape for a few moments of privacy, quiet time and calm.

With much less light than our other areas and with only limited visual stimulation, in here we have a blackout tent, weighted blankets, a soothing projector, mini infinity light mirror, sensory gel tiles, a sensory led mat, fiber optics and various fidget toys.

The Calming Room is situated through the green door at the end of The Green Room.

Located right in the heart of The sensory Xperience, is our most high tech room. Within the four white walls of The Interactive Room, we use a state of the art interactive projector equipped with the latest software technology, in order to simulate an array of vivid environments and provide a variety of immersive, stimulating activities sure to suit all ages and abilities, even helping allow those with limited movement to alter their immediate environment .

In here we also have a interactive resource incorporating touch screen technology with a variety of matching and word games, jigsaw puzzles and colouring activities, all with a range of difficulty levels making it fully adaptable to all users. This resource is fully height adjustable meaning it is suitable for wheelchair users and users of any height. This room encourages creativity, and can help with literacy, cognitive function and social skills.

The Blue Zone, an open planned multi-sensory area, is about the same size as The Green Room. Our equipment in this room includes a lot of resources that are used by occupational therapists in providing therapeutic sessions and sensory integration activities. These resources provide active fun, excellent input for those seeking deep pressure and vestibular and proprioceptive input. Visitors can use this area to engage in their very own sensory circuits.

Equipment here includes the giant roller slide, deep pressure body roller, spinning carousel chairs, tactile balance beams and stones, with vibrant, colourful marine life projected onto one wall, while also there is also an area with soothing and regulating visual resources to encourage calm and relaxation.

The Party Room is set for hosting parties and special occasions, exclusively for people with disabilities and additional needs, their siblings, family, friends and schoolmates.

Our parties are “everything organised” in that we will assist with as much organising as we can, such as collecting cake, balloons, etc.

We cook all food on-site, can cater for special dietary requirements, and our proud to hold a 5 start Food and Hygiene rating from the Food Standards Agency. Party bags are provided and a free gift is available for the birthday celebrant.

This room is also used for hosting various workshops and carer events.

The final area of The sensory Xperience consists of a small seating area where parents/carers can sit down, relax and enjoy a complimentary cuppa, while also giving visitors a chance to chat with ourselves, or with other parents and carers.

Our carers area also includes a small information station containing leaflets from organisations offering help and support to families and carers including details of various and wide ranging benefit entitlements.

This area sits adjacent to both The Blue Zone and The Party Room. Take a seat and enjoy!
